True North

Well, hello everyone, the holidays have arrived along with cold and damp weather. This festive season is my favorite time of the year, and also the busiest.

As the lights go up, along with boughs of holly, and days grow shorter, things become very busy for all of us. In whatever way you choose to celebrate,  I hope you all had a blessed and happy Thanksgiving.

We have a new homeschooler in our home this year, so for us this Thanksgiving was a time to learn about pilgrims and pumpkins, and Plymouth rock.

We were also blessed to host a whole house full of family and friends happy to share the bounty God had provided.

Everyone eagerly consumed the traditional turkey and trimmings, and we were happy to send home left overs for late night turkey sandwiches.

HUSTLE AND BUSTLE

As we all begin preparation for the Christmas season, I want to extend my thanks to the friends and family who have taken time to join me here and have found a Space at this table, where more spiritual food will be served each week, (when the tryptophan begins to fade), and I return to a somewhat normal schedule.  😀

THE GREATEST GIFT

Now that Black Friday is over and the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping is in full swing, we all tend to be more distracted than normal.

Still, no matter how much you have to accomplish or how drawn away you become whether by the next blue light special, or the mesmerizing quest for the perfect gift, it’s important not to allow yourself to be drawn off center.

Especially during all the hubbub, alignment to our true North is vital.

It’s what keeps us balanced.

That point on the compass is always Jesus and He always always points us to the good news of the Kingdom. Informing us that the time is fulfilled and the Kingdom of God is at hand.

MARK 1:15…The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand:…

That Kingdom is found not in the hustle and bustle, nor the packages and the parties, but in the quiet stillness of our own heart where, if we listen closely, we discover that we are not now nor were we ever separate, not from God, nor from each other; all are and always have been mystically quantumly supernaturally connected.

Beloved ones, may this special time of the year bring you great joy and open to you, the greatest gift of all, the revelation of your identity in Christ who is and always has been the forever True North of your being.

That’s just the beginning of the celebration.
